If you concentrate<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong>in what you don&#8217;t have, you will never have enough. &#8220;- Oprah Winfrey<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p>For me gratitude is the most powerful practice I have ever come to<br \/>\nthrough to date.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s simple, it takes very little time, it&#8217;s free, and it can be done<br \/>\nanywhere at any time. It has the power to change your mood, change your perspective, and bring more joy and peace into your life.<\/p>\n<p>Research has been done on the benefits of gratitude. As time passes, a long time, spiritual and yogic practices are proving to be beneficial.<\/p>\n<p>Scientific Community: Here is an excerpt from an article on gratitude:<br \/>\n&#8220;When we express gratitude and receive the same, our brain releases dopamine and serotonin, the two crucial neurotransmitters responsible for our emotions, and make us feel &#8216;good&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>They improve our mood immediately, making us feel happy from the inside.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6610 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/puja-yoga.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/3a551d59-a9e9-4b0c-9f0e-9ca4c12ab543.jpg?resize=287%2C382&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"287\" height=\"382\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By consciously practicing gratitude every day, we can help these neural pathways strengthen and ultimately create a permanent positive and grateful nature within ourselves. &#8220;<\/p>\n<p>The new science of gratitude and how it affects anxiety and pain<br \/>\narticle by Madhuleena Roy Chowdhury, BA 25 01-09-2020<br \/>\nPositivePsychology.com<\/p>\n<p>In my Restorative Yoga Teacher Trainings I always give a daily thank you to all students and they are expected to write 10 gratitudes<br \/>\nin the morning and another 10 before bedtime.<\/p>\n<p>I ask that you continue beyond the end of the training to complete the gratitude journal. I ask you to write a word or two about each gratitude.<\/p>\n<p>Here is one of my typical lists:<\/p>\n<p>1. The sky<br \/>\n2. My bed<br \/>\n3. Handle<br \/>\n4. My mom<br \/>\n5. my brother<br \/>\n6. my kitty<br \/>\n7. The sun<br \/>\n8. My breath<br \/>\n9. Incense<br \/>\n10. I also invite my students<br \/>\nto develop the transmission of gratitude.<\/p>\n<p>Look around the room and find ten things you are thankful for that you can see, hear, taste, smell, or feel.<\/p>\n<p>Write them in your head one after another.<br \/>\nIf I feel upset or sad, I do my best to feel these things fully and then practice gratitude.
