Welcome to the Puja Yoga website
My name is Puja Sue Flamm (Susana), 500 ERYT, I have almost 40 years of personal yoga practice and more than 30 teaching it to countless students around the world.
I certified at Kripalu Yoga Center (USA), with intensive studies in Iyengar Yoga and Ashtanga and Anusara styles, as well as a massage therapist.
I am a yoga teacher trainer through my own «Puja Method», which includes Restorative Yoga, the teaching of yoga in general and pre and post natal yoga.
My method is a synthesis of everything I have learned from many extraordinary teachers and from my own exploration and practice over all these years.
My teaching favors the internal connection between body and mind, meditation, teaching of different ways to help the body to have more physical strength, toning the internal organs, as well as learning to relax deeply and to cultivate the practice with kindness towards ourselves.
The Puja Method immerses you in a variant of yoga that works both physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically, and that through these trainings will make you live a truly transformative and beneficial experience for your professional and personal future.
Restorative yoga explores each person’s individual ability to relax deeply, understand body and mind more intimately, and open the heart more fully to love.
Generally speaking, in restorative practice we move through a progressive series of postures using various accessories to support us.
When the body is supported by these accessories (blankets, pillows, blocks, straps, eye bags, walls and chairs) the body, mind and spirit receive the message to let go of the deep tension within them.
Each pose has a variety of benefits that I explain in depth in the trainings, and with each of them, students learn the «art of relaxation» that takes them to a place of peace and tranquility.
All the details of my method are in my book «Restorative Yoga with Supports and Assists». A method that is essential in courses and training, but that can also be purchased for reading at home with peace of mind.
The restorative yoga courses, workshops and trainings with my «Puja Method» are aimed mainly at yoga and/or meditation teachers, but also at other professionals such as nurses and mental, physical, occupational health therapists, physical education teachers or any other another sector related to the field of health or personal growth.
It is a complementary theoretical-practical training with which you can help and teach your students or patients techniques to achieve greater relaxation, stillness and deep inner peace, in addition to the physical benefits of yoga practice.
Restorative Yoga with Assists
THE MANUAL FOR MY TRAININGS
In addition to the detailed explanations, the book has more than 100 photos to help you understand each position, and a set of assists to take your students to a deep level of relaxation.
With this book I refer to restorative yoga not as a new style or school of yoga, but as a selection of poses, many of which use props to help the practitioner explore deeper relaxation, stillness, and inner peace along with the many physical benefits of yoga practice.
My method of teaching restorative yoga combines postures (asanas) with supports with mindful breathing (pranayama), relaxation and techniques to calm the body and calm the mind.
93 Prescriptions for joy
CULTIVATING MOMENTS OF JOY AND INNER PEACE
My experience with yoga, the people I have met, and the spiritual life I try to lead have also inspired me to write this book.
A book that contains simple but very powerful ideas and suggestions for you to experience inner joy and peace through connection with yourself, with others and with nature.
From my own experience, I am sure that our desire to obtain something outside of ourselves can be replaced by finding ways to create joy.
I have experienced the cycle many times: wish, longing, having, and then next wish. Because when you’ve reached it, and the desire ends, the enjoyment often fades quite quickly.
93 is a symbol of love towards ourselves and towards others, and love is the reason why I am here on the planet.
El 93 es un símbolo de amor hacia nosotros mismos y hacia los demás, y el amor es la razón por la que estoy aquí en el planeta.
TRAININGS
Most styles of yoga use restorative postures according to the conditions and needs of the different students.
The Puja method does not refer to restorative yoga as a new style or school of yoga.
It is a selection of postures, with or without accessories, that help the practitioner to explore and feel relaxation, stillness and a deeper inner peace.
It combines postures (asanas), with supports, with conscious breathing (pranayama), with relaxation and with different techniques to calm the body and calm the mind.
RETREATS
I have a special connection and weakness for nature and life.
I love feeling the elements and having the perfect time and space to carry out my training sessions, and I understand that it is reciprocal for my students.
For this reason, periodically and whenever circumstances allow us, we carry out the training in different locations, outside the cities and their noises and tensions.
It is a way of connecting with ourselves, meditating and practicing yoga with the tranquility of feeling connected to life and to others in places full of peace and well-being.
IPATH METHOD
As our physical posture deteriorates, the joints become restricted and the difference between tight and weak muscles and joints creates stress.
These imbalances, stiffness, and loss of movement cause overcompensation and pain signals throughout the body.
The IPATH® Method is a sequence of knowledge and action asanas and its practice allows the body to restore itself to the most natural and efficient way with the alignment and manipulation of the bones through intentional breathing work and relaxation.
CERTIFIED STUDENTS IN 7 COUNTRIES
There are many yoga teachers who have been certified in my Restorative Puja Yoga Method trainings in each of the countries in which I have taught.
It is wonderful to be able to work with so many students over the years (in turn teachers in their respective countries), sharing this vital journey that yoga gives us.
Each country, each culture and each group, even each one of the students enrich me, give me great experience and keep me on the path of love, since teaching is precisely a way of helping others.
COLLABORATING CENTERS
For the celebration of my teacher trainings and retreats, I count on the collaboration of selected yoga centers in some cities of different countries.
These rooms have cozy rooms, with all the necessary materials to give the training and of course with all the guarantees of safety and hygiene that current times demand.
For me it is a pleasure to be able to count on the support of those in charge of the centers and with all the means that they put at my disposal so that the students of the training courses enjoy learning and feel at home.
ONLINE COURSES CLASSES & TRAININGS
The circumstances that the planet has had in 2020 in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, has in some way forced to accelerate the process of adaptation to new technologies for all those who were not yet.
The face-to-face trainings have decreased in recent months, but fortunately, taking technology as an ally, I have developed the different trainings of the Puja method of restorative yoga, also in an online version.
In this way, I already do both training, private classes and courses, as well as meditations and video series online, in streaming by zoom and my social networks.
