Gratitude !!
“Be grateful for what you have, you will end up having more. If you concentrate
in what you don’t have, you will never have enough. “- Oprah Winfrey
For me gratitude is the most powerful practice I have ever come to
through to date.
It’s simple, it takes very little time, it’s free, and it can be done
anywhere at any time. It has the power to change your mood, change your perspective, and bring more joy and peace into your life.
Research has been done on the benefits of gratitude. As time passes, a long time, spiritual and yogic practices are proving to be beneficial.
Scientific Community: Here is an excerpt from an article on gratitude:
“When we express gratitude and receive the same, our brain releases dopamine and serotonin, the two crucial neurotransmitters responsible for our emotions, and make us feel ‘good’.
They improve our mood immediately, making us feel happy from the inside.

By consciously practicing gratitude every day, we can help these neural pathways strengthen and ultimately create a permanent positive and grateful nature within ourselves. ”

In my Restorative Yoga Teacher Trainings I always give a daily thank you to all students and they are expected to write 10 gratitudes
in the morning and another 10 before bedtime.
I ask that you continue beyond the end of the training to complete the gratitude journal. I ask you to write a word or two about each gratitude.
Here is one of my typical lists:
1. The sky
2. My bed
3. Handle
4. My mom
5. my brother
6. my kitty
7. The sun
8. My breath
9. Incense
10. My daughter
When we write our gratitude, it is the foundation of the practice. also can
slow down your mind a bit and connect your body and mind in the process, especially if you consciously breathe in between each gratitude.

There are many ways to practice gratitude. I also invite my students
to develop the transmission of gratitude.
Look around the room and find ten things you are thankful for that you can see, hear, taste, smell, or feel.
Write them in your head one after another.
If I feel upset or sad, I do my best to feel these things fully and then practice gratitude. If I’ve just been in an unpleasant situation or am having a “day off,” I practice gratitude.
Gratitude is a practical alchemy that can change your moments and can change your life.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Saying “thank you” is another way to practice gratitude.
May loving-kindness and gratitude fill this moment and guide you home, to your heart, and to your deepest self.
