Welcome to the Puja Yoga website
My name is Puja Sue Flamm (Susana), 500 ERYT, I have been practicing yoga for 45+ years and teaching for 35+ to thousands of students around the globe.
I originally completed my certification at Kripalu Yoga Center (USA) and have continued with intensive studies in Iyengar, Ashtanga (Mysore) and Anusara yoga styles. I am also a certified massage therapist.
I offer yoga teacher trainings and have created the “Puja Method”, which focuses on Restorative Yoga and the 8 limbs of yoga.
My method is a synthesis of everything I have learned from many extraordinary teachers and from my own exploration and practice over these many years.
Through asana, pranayama, meditation and yogic teachings my method helps students to understand the internal connection between the body and mind, learning to relax deeply and to cultivate the practice of loving kindness.
The Puja Method immerses you in a yoga practice that works physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically. My trainings will help you to live a truly transformative and beneficial experience for your professional and your personal life.
Restorative yoga explores each person’s individual ability to relax deeply, understand the body and the mind more intimately, and open the heart to love more fully.
In the restorative practice we move through a series of postures using yoga props to support us and guidance on how to get into the poses, be in the poses and get out of each asana.
When the body is supported by these these props (blankets, bolsters, blocks, straps, eye bags, walls and chairs) the body, mind and spirit receive the message that it is safe to let go of deeply held tensions within. Restorative Yoga not only gives you time to rest, but also allows you time to explore yourself inside and move back into your center.
Each pose has a variety of benefits which I explain in depth in my trainings, and with each of them, students learn the “art of relaxation” which takes them to a place of inner alignment, peace and tranquility.
The details of my method are explained in my book “Restorative Yoga with Assists”. My book is an essential part of my Restorative Yoga teacher training courses and it can also be purchased for reading at home to deepen your personal practice or enhance your present yoga classes.
My restorative yoga classes, workshops and trainings using the “Puja Method” were created not only for yoga and/or meditation teachers, and dedicated yoga practitioners but also for other professionals such as nurses, physical or occupational therapists, physical education teachers or any other another sector related to the field of health or personal growth.
My trainings offer a complementary set of skills so that you can help and teach your students or patients techniques to achieve greater relaxation, stillness and deep inner peace, in addition to the physical benefits of yoga practice.
Restorative Yoga with Assists
THE MANUAL FOR MY TRAININGS
In addition to the detailed explanations, the book has more than 100 photos to help you understand each position, and a set of assists to take your students to a deep level of relaxation.
With my book I refer to restorative yoga not as a new style or school of yoga, (though it has recently it appears to be becoming that) but as a selection of poses, which use props to help the practitioner explore deeper relaxation, stillness, and inner peace along with the many physical and mental benefits of the yoga practice.
My method of teaching restorative yoga combines postures (asanas) with support, mindful breathing (pranayama), relaxation and techniques to calm the body and the mind.
93 Prescriptions for Joy
CULTIVATING MOMENTS OF JOY AND INNER PEACE
My experience with yoga, the people I have met, and the spiritual life I do my best to lead have inspired me to write this book.
This book contains simple but very powerful ideas and suggestions for you to experience inner joy and peace through connecting with yourself, with others and with nature.
From my own experience, I have noticed that our desire to obtain something from outside of ourselves can be replaced by finding ways to create joy and inner peace within us.
I have experienced this cycle many times: wishing, longing, having, and then the moving onto the next desire. Because when you’ve reached “it”, and the desire ends, the enjoyment often fades quite quickly and then we search to fulfill the next thing on our list of desires.
The number 93 is a symbol of love towards ourselves and towards others, and love is the reason why I am here on the planet.
TRAININGS IN PERSON
Restorative yoga postures can be taught according to the conditions and needs of individuals or groups of students.
The Puja Method of Restorative Yoga is not a new style or school of yoga, it is based on the traditional yoga practice of the Iyengar Tradition that includes restorative asanas as part of it’s yoga method.
I use a selection of postures, with props, that help the practitioner to explore themselves and experience deep relaxation, stillness and a profound sense of inner peace.
It combines postures (asanas), with support, conscious breathing (pranayama), relaxation and different techniques to calm the body and mind.

SHE
SHE an acronym for
Support

Empowerment
This is a course that I developed back in the 90″s that creates a community of women to support each other and themselves through life’s ups and downs. This course meets once a month for 9 months from September through May. We spend three months on Support, three months on Healing and three months on Empowerment. Through yogic teaching and activities we explore our personal journeys. The next course will be offered this coming September. Keep an eye out for information or feel free to contact me with any questions.
CERTIFIED STUDENTS IN 7 COUNTRIES
There are yoga teachers in many countries where I have taught who are certified in the Puja Yoga Method of Restorative Yoga.
It is wonderful and I am honored and grateful to have been able to work with so many students over the years in many different countries, who are now able to share in this restorative journey.
Each country, each culture, each group and each student has enriched me and we have shared great experiences that keep me on the path of love. Teaching is an honor and gift and a way of supporting and helping others to live more fulfilled lives.
COLLABORATING CENTERS
In order to have the ability to be able to offer my teacher trainings and retreats around the globe, I count on the collaboration of specially selected yoga centers in different areas and countries.
These studios have a beautiful yoga space, with all the necessary props to offer my trainings and of course with all the guarantees of safety and hygiene that these current times demand.
For me it is a pleasure to be able to count on the support of these wonderful yoga centers to provide a beautiful clean space so that students in my trainings can enjoy learning and feel at home.
RETREATS
I have a special connection with and love for nature.
I love feeling the elements and having time and space to carry out both yoga retreats and training sessions for my students in beautiful places.
For this reason, periodically and whenever circumstances allow, offer trainings and retreats in different locations, outside of the city and it’s noises and tensions.
It is a way of connecting with ourselves, meditating and practicing yoga with tranquility and connecting to life and to others in places full of prana, peace and natural goodness.
